These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the Meridian 2085 website (the “Site”), published by Meridian 2085 (“we,” “us,” or “the Publisher”). By browsing the Site, reading a sample chapter, or writing to us through it, you agree to the terms set out below. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Site.

1. What this Site is

The Site exists to present Meridian 2085’s catalogue of published and forthcoming titles. It is editorial and informational in nature: it does not process orders, payments, or accounts. Where a title is available for purchase, the Site links to third-party retailers who fulfil the sale.

2. Purchases through third-party retailers

Links marked Kindle, Paperback, or Hardcover on a book’s page lead to retailers and platforms we do not operate. Once you leave the Site to complete a purchase, that retailer’s own terms of sale, pricing, availability, shipping, and privacy practices apply, not ours. We make reasonable efforts to keep these links current but cannot guarantee a given retailer’s price, stock, or edition at any given time, and we are not a party to the transaction you make with them.

3. Sample chapters and other excerpts

Where a downloadable sample chapter is offered, it is provided so that you may evaluate a title before buying it, and for your own personal reading. Unless a title is explicitly marked otherwise, the sample remains the copyrighted work of its author or Meridian 2085, and may not be reproduced, redistributed, sold, or published elsewhere, in whole or in part, without prior written permission.

4. Intellectual property

The text, cover art, blurbs, wordmark, and design of this Site are either owned by Meridian 2085 or used under licence from the respective authors and illustrators, and are protected by copyright and other applicable laws. Nothing on the Site transfers any of that ownership to you. You are welcome to link to the Site or quote brief passages for review or commentary, with attribution, in a manner consistent with fair use or fair dealing.

5. Forthcoming titles

Titles listed as forthcoming are in preparation and have not yet been published. Their covers, titles, blurbs, and publication dates are provisional and may change before release. Registering your interest in a forthcoming title is not a pre-order, does not create any obligation on our part to publish it by a given date, and does not entitle you to a copy free of charge.

6. Notification requests

If you ask to be notified about a title or about our self-publishing programme, you are inviting us to email you about that specific subject. We will use the address you provide for that purpose only, and you may ask us at any time, by replying to any such email or writing to us directly, to stop.

7. Unsolicited manuscripts and enquiries

Correspondence sent to us regarding self-publishing, submissions, or manuscripts is welcome, but sending it does not create any publishing agreement, exclusivity, or obligation on our part to respond, review, or return what is sent. Please do not send material you are not comfortable having us read and consider at our discretion.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Site in a way that infringes on the rights of Meridian 2085 or others, attempts to gain unauthorised access to it, interferes with its ordinary operation, or extracts its content at scale (for example, through automated scraping) without our prior written consent.

9. No warranty

The Site and its contents are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or entirely up to date, including as to pricing or availability on third-party retailer sites.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Meridian 2085 will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Site, or from any third-party retailer, website, or service linked from it.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time as the catalogue, and the Site itself, grow. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of India. The courts of Bhubaneswar, Odisha shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of the Site.
